2016 Ford Escape

Ford's first foray into the world of the crossover, the Ford Escape was grown to become one of the most successful crossover vehicles on the market. The 2016 Ford Escape plans to continue this trend, featuring sleek styling and one of the top interiors in the class. The Ford Escape comes in three trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Attractive and Versatile

The 2016 Ford Escape is another in a series of great-looking vehicles coming from Ford, with handsome sheet metal featuring an athletic stance and contemporary lines. The profile is arched, with lines weighted down towards the front, giving the illusion of constant motion. 17-inch steel wheels are standard on the S trim, with 17-inch aluminium, 18-inch aluminium or chrome, and 19-inch aluminium or chrome wheels available depending on the trim and options. Dual chrome exhausts are standard on the SE and Titanium models, along with fog lamps and silver front and rear skid plate inserts. Roof rails are optional on the SE trim and standard on the Titanium level. One of the most handy party tricks the Escape has in store is the Hands-Free, Foot-Activated Liftgate standard on the Titanium model. The Titanium also gets standard heated exterior windows to melt off the nasty winter icing.

Inside the cabin of the 2016 Ford Escape, there are plenty of soft-touch materials and cloth upholstery for the five occupants. The seats feature plenty of support and padding, with around 1,000 millimeters of head room throughout the cabin and over 1,400 millimeters of shoulder room for all passengers. Cargo space is also generous, with 971 liters behind the second row and 1,920 liters with the second row folded down. Ford updates the features available in the Escape for the new year as well, in place of the MyFord Touch system with the brand new, highly anticipated SYNC 3. This feature is available on the SE Convenience package, and is standard on the Titanium trim. The S and SE trims have the basic SYNC system as standard equipment. Other options on the SE trim that are standards on the Titanium are features such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated mirrors, remote ignition, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Plenty of Power options to Choose From

The 2016 Ford Escape is available in both front- and four-wheel drive, although the base 2.5L Duratec is front-wheel-drive only. All models come with the 6-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, and the maximum towing capacity when properly equipped is 1,587 kilograms.
