Distinctive with a Retro Touch
Uniquely boxy and linear with angles and long, straight grooves, the four-door 2016 Ford Flex stands out in the crossover and SUV class. Combining modern design with retro hints - think the wood-sided wagons of the mid 1900s - it has a certain charm. Up front, the rectangular grille blends seamlessly into the autolamp automatic halogen headlamps that are wiper-activated. High intensity discharge (HID) headlamps are available for improved night vision, while heated sideview mirrors help with visibility in the snowy and icy winter months. Body-colour trim is used throughout, including the roof and door handles, while chrome is available. Bright stainless steel beltline mouldings highlight the sides, contrasting with the dark privacy glass that is used throughout the second and third rows and liftgate. To add to the unique appearance, a contrasting-tone roof, monochromatic roof, or Shadow-black painted roof can all be added for a look that is entirely different from anything else you'll come across, while a Multipanel Vista Roof opens up the cabin for the rear passengers. The liftgate itself is available with powe, for added convenience when loading and unloading, while quasi-dual exhaust with bright tips wraps everything up. Five different wheel choices include 20-inch High-Gloss Black-Painted Aluminum.
Seven passengers have ample room inside the 2016 Ford Flex, thanks to the angular, flat-sided build. Every row offers at least 980 millimeters of head room, while the second row provides up to 1125 millimeters of leg room. There's plenty of room for cargo as well, up to 2355 litres behind the first row when the back two rows are stowed. Cloth is standard, while leather upholstery is available, and heated first- and second-row seating can also be equipped. The second row is available with bucket seats or a bench seat - with the bucket seats, a class-exclusive refrigerated console can be equipped. A variety of trim is available, including a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, maple wood-grain appearance appliques, and chrome accents. Entertainment options include the standard audio system, along with a premium 12-speaker Sony audio system with AM/FM.CD capabilities. For back seat passengers, a Dual Headrest DVD system from INVISION will keep them entertained on longer drives. Located on the centre console, the Ford SYNC systems are some of the most powerful infotainment options on the market. While the SYNC system is standard, the available SYNC 3 system provides much more. Common features on both systems include hands-free calling and voice-activated music commands through Bluetooth, so your hands stay on the wheel and your focus stays on the road ahead. SYNC 3 adds an easy-to-use 8-inch colour LCD screen, enhanced voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free integration, and automatic Wi-Fi upgrades. A navigation system is also available to help you find your way across the country.
